East Coast Weather Disruptions !
If you had your return flight ticket for the last weekend (27th or 28th of August), your flight probably have been cancelled. You should contact the airline directly to find out about any travel information. They are the ones who can tell you when your new flight is.
So in general: You should contact
1. the airline directly ,
2. then Skytours (or who you bought the ticket)
3. then the US office
You can follow JFK airport in New York on

Amtrak train service and certain bus lines also could have delays or disruption in service.
Another important note:
The CCUSA insurance does not cover Hurricane disruption of travel.

New After Camp Travel Coordinator program for Hungarians!
It is time to think about what you will be doing after camp is over! If you are planning to travel in the States , please check this new link out, which Gabor made for this year's Hungarian participants.
As you know, we also have a "CCUSA Barati Kor" on Facebook and IWIW -where you can post all sorts of messages, questions, comments... But this site is dedicated to coordinate your travelling ideas:So if you are looking for travelling company, a car who would take you, or a you have a car, but you need more passengers or you just want to know, where everyone goes this summer: Sign in with your CCUSA login name and password, and leave a short message! We hope this page will help Hungarians to keep in touch and travel together!

If you are a CCUSA support staff participant or a WEUSA particiapnt and you have not done it yet, you must "check in with CCUSA". It is a new visa regulation and you must do this in every 30 days while you are in the States. Please TODAY go to the Footprints http://footprints.ccusa.com/
1. Login as normally, with your CCUSA login name and password
2. Then go to Camp Counselors USA / Work Experience USA~ Summer - 2011
3 Look for "My J1 Visa" section!
4. Find the new "Check In with CCUSA" button
5. Please follow the two easy steps and answer the questions, so you can be considered, then click on the last button. It will also give you a chance to let CCUSA know, you want them to contact you, if there are any issues.
6. You are done! And you don't have to worry about it for the next 30 days or until you leave the States!
Important:
- This is ONLY for support staff applicants. Camp Counselors - you do NOT have to do anything regarding to this.
-Also: YOU must do it personally while you are in the States. Under no circumstances can the CCUSA office in Hungary can help with this. Of course, you can contact CCUSA, if you have any questions.

Dear All CCUSA Participants
Some of you are in the States / Canada already, but are only a few more weeks (or just days?!) and you will all get your backpack, look around one more time, pick up your prepared pack (with passport, money, printed e-ticket, the Health History Form and Police Check), then take a deep breath and head to the Ferihegy/Liszt Ferenc airport to be there at least two hours earlier.
As you may know, today June 3, Friday will be my last day in the Budapest CCUSA office this season. Like all of you soon, I am also leaving to start my summer in one of the US camps.
From now on I will not be able to take your phone calls and I will not be always able to check my emails (you will see how hard to get Internet sometimes in camps), so don't expect a quick answer - if you email me.

After you left Hungary : keep in touch with the US office - while you are in the States THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CAN HELP, if you need any help to get to camp, either during camp or even during your travellings in the States. I wish you a nice trip and a Great Summer: if you go to camp with an opened mind, ready to work hard and not being afraid to ask questions, I am sure you will get the most out of it!
One important note: From the minute you arrive at camp please don't be shy, but introduce yourself loudly to everyone, make sure you get yourself a funny nickname and get new friends from every country even from the US (remember, they have cars!!) - use every minute, but especially the first few days to make a difference...
I hope it is going to be the BEST SUMMER OF YOUR LIFE! Take care and send me a postcard or a happy email on your first day off: I love reading funny camp stories!

FDM: 2011 Camp Counselors USA participants
Here are the details for the Final Departure Meeting on May 14, Saturday. This meeting is MANDATORY for all first timers, which means you must attend!

Dear ALL 2011 WEUSA participants
This year we will have 2 Final Departure Meeting for the WEUSA participants, so you can and you MUST choose one of the following dates / times:
The first will be on May 15, Sunday between 13.00-17.00. This info meeting will be in Hungarian.
The second will be on May 18, Wednesday between 17.00-20.00. This orientation will be in English, because some of our participants do not speak Hungarian.
The meetings will be hold in our office, which has a maximum capacity of 30 seats. Therefore you must go to www.ccusa.hu / Events and select the meeting you attend (give us your full name and ID#). Act quickly, if you prefer one date over the other!

Congratulations to all of our 5 participants who came to the CCUSA Job Fair in Bratislava, on 1st April and got hired.
Dorney Park hired 2, Cedar point 1, Breakers Express 1 and Jenkinson’s Pavilion hired 1 participant.
We wish, more people could apply earlier but everyone who has applied before March 15th got a job at the Fair.

New Opening Hours for the CCUSA Budapest office
We would like to inform you that we have a new schedule for the opening hours in our office from Monday, March 21th 2011 (until June, when we change to ‘summer mode’).
There were more reasons to make this change. The following months will be the busiest months during the year and we really need to have more „quiet” hours to prepare your visas, arrange your flights and set your insurance, answer general emails and most importantly work on those applicants who are not placed yet. With our limited full time employees in the office, it is difficult to arrange all these when the phone is ringing and we have visitors in the office without appointments. Thus we are asking your flexibility and your understanding.
The office opening hours for March-April-May are the followings:

UPDATES ON ALL UPCOMING CCUSA PROGRAM DEADLINES:
- Camp Counselors USA: Closed down for all regular first timers. Preplaced first timers (with a camp contract) and returnees can still apply until further notice There is a late fee of 25 euro for all first timers sent to the States after 1 March (returnees - 15 March).
- Camp Canada: NOT CLOSED!! Still opened for first timers! If applying after 1 March, must pay a 50 euro late fee.
- WEUSA Placement: officially it is closed down. But if you apply and provide all paperwork / full payment by 8 March, we can still accept them as late applicants without late fee.
- WEUSA Job Fair (will happen in Bratislava, 1 April): We will accept applications for this fair until 20 March, and participants must provide all paperwork / full payment by 25 March. We strongly recommend WEUSA participants without a job going to this fair: Check out the Booklet for more details about the 4 employers ! 100% placement rate in previous years!!
- WEUSA Indipendent program: We can accept applications until mid April - or until further notice. It is advisable, that you should only apply, if you already have a job offer from a US company.

Reminder for all placed first timer participants (with fligth): it is time to choose your return flightdate (in case you have not done it yet)
This is just a reminder, that since Tuesday, our IT department has launched the feature of "choosing your Return Flight Date".
All placed first timer participants with flight option (if you have not done it yet), should
- log back to your Footprints account,
- go to the My Travel Section and
- click on the link to select your return flight date from the US, then use the “calendar window”!
Remember to choose this date carefully - in general, it is always better to give yourself a few days more than you think you will need (in case you need more days for post camp work or to travel or just simply to make sure you will catch your flight in time).
You can also check about traveling plans with other future camp friends (did you know, you can find the “list of names/ emailaddresses of other CCUSA staff placed at your camp” also on Footprints under the My Placement section?)
From today (23 Febr) you have 3 more days to decide! Don’t wait until the last minute!

If you are not placed by 19 Febr, you are welcome to come to the CampFair on 20 Febr at Novotel Hotel, Budapest.
Conditions for coming for the CampFair:
Successful interview, full paperwork and full payment provided by 14 Febr, 2011!
This year you must do a special register ONLINE for the fair, on Monday 14 Febr - Maximum limit is 120 spot.
An email will be sent to all unplaced first timer participant explaining how to do register on Monday (Febr 14) morning.
It is very important, that you will register in both cases you are planning to come or not.
