The American Summer Camp Tradition
As children, many of us have enjoyed some form of camping experience, from sleeping in a tent in the yard to camping with our family on holidays. However, the American summer camp experience takes camping to a new level.
The American Summer Camp Tradition started in 1861, and today over 12,000 summer camps cater to more than 10 million children. These camps generally exist in beautiful, rural areas, typically including a lake or pool. They offer amenities such as large sports fields, cabins, dining halls, creative/performing arts facilities, camp fires and a whole lot more. These camps cater to children from all economic backgrounds, religious faiths and physical abilities. All camps have one goal in common: to provide a safe, rewarding and positive experience for their campers.

Camp Counselors USA places you at a summer camp that matches your personality, skills and interests. When your camp assignment ends, you are free to travel independently in the USA for up to 30 days before you return home. Free Information Meetings
The best way to learn and understand what it is like to Travel, Live and Work or Volunteer overseas is by attending one of our exciting free information meetings.
These fun and informative sessions give you the opportunity to speak to CCUSA in person, participate in a discussion with our staff and hear the stories of former participants as they relate their experiences working, playing and traveling around the USA. You will also be able to view our great videos designed to help give you a better visual understanding of each of our programs.

Once you are on our program, you will be able to access “Footprints", your online Personal Support Website where you can:
- Update information on your application.
- Review placement information and other participants placed through CCUSA at the same camp.
- Receive notifications and updates.

- Access Travel and Participant Handbooks.
